Maybe I’m a pessimist, but I really can’t imagine seeing that on Sesame Street today, can you?

No I can’t imagine either. The media, and even public TV, are way too afraid of the reactionaries who write their paychecks.
We keep ratting on the ’70′s, but they were compared to now, an enlightened decade. I still remember the frank portrayal of teenage sex on “James at 16″.

Even the sex ed I had in high school in the late 80′s was a lot better than the sex ed that is offered in schools in my state today.

I absolutely LOVE that this appeared on Sesame Street. It’s perfectly natural and young children are curious about it. There’s nothing to be ashamed about.
