Hi Jen! *smiles, waves*

I was borderline with gestational diabetes also, but you don't have to give up ALL sweets... just the ones with a high glycemic index number (google it). The worst offenders are not naturally sweet foods, but ones with TONS of "High fructose corn syrup".

So go ahead and eat oranges and other fruits. :)

Oatmeal and peanutbutter cookies are great if you feel the need for a sweet with more heft to them.

Ice cream has real sugar in it, but its the fat content that makes it a no-no... I got seriously into "death by chocolate" non-fat frozen yogurt. :)

   As for the HPV vaccine...

Of course i would get my daughter vaccinated!

What the religious morons (Quaker here) always fail to take into account, is the rape factor.

While its true women don't often get pregnant by rape (just lucky i geuss ;) what is also true is that they VERY often get VD from the experience.

If i can keep my daughter from needing a piece of her cervix removed (like me, if she's lucky) its worth it.

Counting on luck to save your life and fertility when a vaccine is available is just plain stupid.
